The Oil Spill and The American Image

Dear President Barack Obama,

Today is day 72 of the oil spill and it still hasn’t been resolved. The damage to the environment is disastrous and will have long term implications. The Louisiana Delta is getting more polluted day by day and The Florida Everglades have also been affected. No effort should be spared in restoring the wildlife and environment in th region.

More importantly, the incident does not appear good for the image of America. The world’s most technologically advanced and innovative nation appears to be helpless in resolving this oil pollution crisis.

I feel that the government should bring together our best scientists, engineers, and environmentalist to speedily take the lead in resolving the issue. BP could still be ultimately responsible to compensate the affected communities and for the cleanup operation.

It is critical that the U.S. Government resolve these issues on an urgent basis and demonstrate to world that it is still worthy of being the world’s greatest nation.

Best Regards,
